Florida Law: Controlled Substance Prescribing by Advanced Practice Registered Nurses
This course meets the requirements of the Florida Board of Nursing, Statute 893.3 which requires all Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs) to complete at least 3 hours of continuing education in the safe and effective prescribing of controlled substances. This requirement is to be completed before each license renewal, beginning August 1, 2016, whether or not the APRN is registered with the DEA. This evidenced-based course is designed to provide APRNs with the information and tools they need to prescribe controlled substance in their practice and includes best practices for prescribing, treating, and managing patients requiring controlled substances.
